‘Where We Connect’

A floral entry mural for Midland Gate Shopping Centre with a bit of an abstract, geometric flavour.
Applying my signature florals to what is a bit of a different composition style for me, came about through playing with the idea of Midland as a 'junction.' A place where people and routes and places meet, intersect, cross-over and connect.
This idea also felt relevant to Midland Gate Shopping Centre, as a place were people meet, gather, connect and obviously there is also a great variety of services converging in one place too.

Grevillea christineae
Cinnamon Sun Orchid (Thelymitra dedmaniarum)
Darwinia pimelioides
Autumn Scrub Daisy (Olearia paucidentata)
All of these are from Midland/ City of Swan region, and some are classified as rare and threatened species. Interestingly, they all grow in different conditions or soil types, which is yet another example of the area as a place where many different things intersect.
